PLAYTIME WITH THE QUES

Members of Nassau’s Pi Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. lent a helping hand to the Bahamas National Trust by manning the Kiddie Play Area at the BNT’s first annual Spring Fling event at the National Trust grounds on Village Road.  The event, held on Saturday, March 25th was the perfect opportunity for the men of Omega and children alike to revive their skills in such Bahamian childhood favorites as marble shooting, top spinning, and hopscotch.

BNT Executive Committee Member Stacey Moultrie thanked the men of Omega Psi Phi and all the other volunteers for making the event a success.  She explained that the family-oriented event was organized by The Bahamas National Trust to raise funds to assist the Trust in fulfilling its mandate of managing the national parks system of The Bahamas.  She pointed out that there are some twenty-five national parks located throughout the islands, which provide protection to important species such as the Bahama Parrot and West Indian Flamingo, and which also serve to protect such important habitats as the Maidenhair Forest and the Bahamas’ coral reef system.

Pi Xi Chapter Basileus Deyvon Jones noted Omega Psi Phi’s long history of service to the Bahamian community and welcomed the opportunity for Pi Xi Chapter to become a more active stakeholder in the preservation of our nation’s natural resources.
